De grip van het surfen Slater Designs 4-stuk is gemaakt met bio-gebaseerde schuim vervaardigd op basis van algen. De algen is een plant die groeit te groot en voorkomt een goede circulatie van water. Kelly Slater wilde het gebruik van dit materiaal om te helpen in balans zijn van deze ecosystemen. Zelfs de verpakking is milieuvriendelijk en biologisch afbreekbaar.
