Fins Accessories

When it comes to fin accessories, your board’s fin system really determines which screws, tools and covers you need. An FCS plug is not the same as a FUTURES system or a US box longboard: each one requires specific compatibility. The first question is always which fin system your board has, before looking at any other criteria. Here you’ll find the complementary accessories so your surf fins work without any surprises, from spare screws to installation tools and secure storage.

Screws and mounting systems for surf fins

The screws you choose make a difference in stability and responsiveness. A worn or incompatible screw reduces the board’s precision; a quality screw with the correct thread size ensures that your fin won’t move in the water. That’s why you should always start from your board’s system before choosing any mounting accessory.

FCS screws: compatible with standard FCS system boards, available in different thread sizes depending on the model. If you have a beginner or progression FCS board, these screws will allow you to change fins without complications. FCS spare kits group multiple screws in a single product, which is convenient if you rotate fins frequently.

FUTURES screws and systems: specifically designed for boards with the FUTURES system. They are installed in threaded holes specific to the system and offer a faster fin change than FCS. If your board is FUTURES, starting from these screws is essential; they are not interchangeable with FCS.

Screws and plates for longboards: longboards with US box systems require manual screws or specific plates. Some older longboards don’t even have a box system and need mounting screws directly into the core. Thread size is critical here: too thick and it cracks the board, too thin and it won’t hold. Longboard spare kits include the variants you’re most likely to need.

Tools for installing and adjusting fins

The right tool saves frustration in the water and on the beach. Installation tools are designed so that mounting and removing fins is quick, safe and won’t damage either the fin system or the board.

Specialized Allen keys: available in specific sizes for M-Fins, FUTURES and Creatures systems. If you regularly tighten screws or change fins on the beach, an Allen key dedicated to your system’s size is a minimal investment. The available colors —black, cyan, pink— don’t change the function, only the look.

Ratchet tools: the specialized Surflogic Ratchet Tool screwdriver combines installation speed with precision. It’s worth prioritizing when you compete or string together intense sessions, as it reduces the physical effort in each fin change.

Multi-purpose scrapers with integrated key: tools that serve a dual function: cleaning wax and tightening fin screws. Creatures, M-Fins and SurfLogic offer versions that reduce what you need to carry in your backpack. In practice, a good scraper also extends your board’s lifespan by keeping the surface clean between sessions.

Specialized covers and cases for transporting and storing fins

A fin cover is not just protection: it’s organization. If you rotate fins according to conditions or keep several setups —thruster for big waves, quad for medium waves, tri for sandy bottoms— a suitable case makes management easier both in and out of the water.

FCS Fin Wallet cases: available with capacity for 4 or 8 fin sets. Compact and portable, they are specifically designed for FCS system fins. They’re a top choice when you travel frequently or compete, as they offer protection without adding excessive weight.

Transport covers: the Surflogic Fin Case and the Ocean & Earth Fin Pouch are specialized for safe transport. They protect against impacts, scratches and temperature changes. For longboards, the Ocean & Earth Fin Pouch offers dimensions adapted to larger fins.

Complementary organizers: the Ocean & Earth Surf Locker 2 Fold centralizes general accessory storage. The Surflogic Wax Cooler keeps wax in optimal condition when the outside temperature drops. These products extend the overall durability of your accessories and help you avoid unnecessary repurchases.

Adapters for compatibility between fin systems

Not every setup change requires changing boards. Adapters allow you to use fins from one system on a board designed for another, which is a cost-effective solution if you want to expand your options without investing in a new board.

FCS/FCSII adapters: make different generations of systems compatible. If you have an older FCS board but want more modern FCSII fins, the FCS/FCSII Tab Infill Kit solves the incompatibility. The M-Fins adapter expands the range of fins available for boards with that system.

Longboard adapter: the FCS Longboard Box Adapter allows you to install FCS fins on a longboard with a US box. One thing to keep in mind is that this adapter does not change the structural behavior of the board, so you can test new setups without compromising your original equipment.

Multi-purpose tools for fin and wax maintenance

Between-session maintenance determines your gear’s durability. These tools combine functions to reduce what you carry and simplify your care routine.

Scrapers with integrated key: the Creatures Wax Tool and the SurfLogic Wax Fin Tool are designed for double duty: scraping wax precisely and tightening fin screws without needing to carry two separate items. The M-Fins multi-purpose scraper follows the same logic of efficiency. In practice, its ergonomic design makes maintenance easier both on the beach and at home.

What really makes a difference here is consistency between the accessories you choose: the right screw, the right tool and the right protective cover completely change how you manage fin changes. At Mundo-Surf you have 100 days for returns; if something turns out not to be compatible, we solve it without any hassle.
