Surfboard Blanks

Surfboard blank or foam blank is used to make the core of surfboards. It is polyurethane or EPS foam. Polyurethane foam come with a wooden stringer in the middle to increase the blank's rigidity, prevents its twisting and help the shaper to work. EPS foam are stringerless, as they must be laminate with a carbon reinforcement in the middle. Our surfboard blanks are available crude or pre-shaped. To pre-shape your board, we use a 4 axis CNC router to obtain its near-final form.

A pre-shape is a surfboard in its raw material. It is a raw foam that we have passed through a numerical control machine that has left the shape of the future surfboard. In other words, it is not a finished board, but it serves as the base to shape your own surfboard.
When you buy a pre-shape, the foam you will receive will be cut to the measurements you requested. It’s a surfboard, but it is not yet laminated or sanded. In other words, you will finish shaping it yourself before it is ready to be used in the water.
Yes. For example, if you want a 5'11" board, you need to request a pre-shape of the same size, because when sanding the notches from the shaping machine, they are not noticeable enough to reduce the size of the surfboard.
