Interchangeable ISS Stringers: Improve your bodyboard according to conditions

The ISS stringer is an interchangeable stringer system consisting of a carbon and/or fiberglass rod, with different hardnesses. It is used to place it inside the bodyboard tables compatible with this system and thus be able to give it the desired rigidity at any given time and place.

There are soft, medium, hard and very hard stringers. A soft stringer gives you flexibility in small waves or when you want more movement. A hard stringer is better for large, powerful waves or when you need immediate response. In cold waters, your wetsuit limits movement, so many riders adjust the stringer according to the combination of conditions.

Changing the stringer of your bodyboard: step by step with the correct plug

It is used by opening the cap located at the tail of your bodyboard and unscrewing it. The plug holds the stringer in place. Depending on the type of wave and water temperature, a softer or harder stringer should be placed depending on the conditions, so that the board has greater flexibility or rigidity.
