The PUDDLE JUMPER-PRO surfboard by LOST Surfboards was born from a challenge by Nate Yeomans, former World Tour surfer and sales rep in California, together with Ben Kelley, general manager and also an experienced surfer. Both had become addicted to the Puddle Jumper HP in recent years and wanted to evolve it, keeping its essence but taking it to a new level.
The idea was clear: “We want to lengthen the PJHP so it looks more like a shortboard, but still stays as easy to maneuver as the original, and keeps its ability to be ripped as a quad.” Both Nate and Ben surf the standard 5’6” x 20” model with 29.50 liters. From that design, they decided to stretch the board to 5'8", narrow it to 19.50", sharpen both nose and tail and increase the front rocker to make it closer to a high-performance shortboard. However, they were very careful to preserve the low tail rocker and the deep concave that goes from single to double and a vee off the tail, features that provide control and power.
The result is a football-shaped outline, very fast yet with a free feeling underfoot. It retains the classic drive of the Puddle Jumper, but with the added agility of the pulled-in nose and the increased rail length, which allows for longer, more critical turns, offering maneuverability and control in all kinds of conditions.
