The Mick’s Tape-SYM is a fully symmetrical version of the famous board that won the 2022 #ElectricAcidSurfboardTest, chosen by legendary surfer Mick Fanning. This model is ideal for those who are unsure about asymmetrical boards but still want to enjoy the exceptional performance of the original #MicksTape.
The main reason the original version was designed asymmetrically was due to the specific conditions of the test, carried out in powerful reef waves in the Maldives. The goal was to design a board under 5’3” that could handle those waves, and it was found that slightly reducing the surface area on the rail improved maneuverability. However, for everyday surfing in mellower conditions and not in reef waves, the MicksTape-SYM offers a simple solution: a “Gull” tail design which, although similar to the typical swallow tail, features an inverted inner curve that provides smooth flow and recalls the original #MicksTape.
This board is designed to work effectively at lengths much shorter than standard shortboards. Choose a length that matches the width and volume you feel comfortable with, and dare to explore new sections of the wave.
PU Construction:
LOST boards are manufactured in the Basque Country by the Olatu factory, owner of the Pukas brand, which also produces boards for the prestigious Al Merrick Channel Islands label. Polyurethane foam core, Silmar polyester resin, and Hexcel fiberglass, all finished with exceptional craftsmanship.
Paint and tinted resin options:
The board can be customized according to the designs on the lostsurfboards.net website. If you want a special design, select the appropriate option and, in the "Customize your product" tab, indicate the design reference and desired colors.
Custom dimensions:
You can customize this board with the length, width, and thickness you want. To do so, select the "Custom" option in the size drop-down menu, and enter the desired dimensions in the "Customize your product" tab.
