The Slater FRK Swallow surfboard, designed by Dan Mann in collaboration with Kelly Slater, is the most versatile board in the FRK line, built for waves up to 5 feet. This model is the latest addition to the FRK family, specifically created to unlock peak performance in small waves, without sacrificing rail-to-rail maneuverability.
Thanks to its new swallow tail design, the FRK Swallow distributes volume directly under the surfer's stance, allowing for speed generation in flat and slow sections. At the same time, it maintains excellent rail performance, which is rare in small-wave boards.
Dan Mann refined the rear third outline and combined it with all-new rocker curves down the center and along the rails for a smoother and more controlled feel. This design, along with the swallow tail, offers better hold and tighter turning precision, outperforming the classic squash tail.
According to the Slater Designs team, the FRK Swallow delivers better feel in downcarves and fin releases than any other model in the brand’s lineup.
It is recommended to surf this board 2 inches shorter than the original FRK and 1 inch shorter than the FRK+, and pair it with the Endorfins KS1 fin set for optimal performance.
Ibolic Epoxy Construction:
Firewire's Ibolic construction brings together the best of the Helium and LFT constructions. The EPS foam core has a 18mm thick high-density foam stringer, and the edges have this same high-density foam, but 16mm thick. The result is a surfboard with the stiffness and strength of the LFT construction, but with the flex and reactivity of the Helium construction.
