"Uber" means excessive, beyond. The new Lost Uber Driver surfboard is exactly that. Excessive fun, beyond expectations and, above all, a great everyday surfboard. It is designed to erase the barriers between hybrids and hi-performance surfboards.
In the back half, the Uber Driver uses the outline and rocker of the DRIVERS currently ridden by Kalohe Andino and Griffin Colapinto. Then it features a lower entry rocker with a wider outline. The board is faster, more forgiving and playful. The bottom goes from a generous single / double concave under the front fins to a noticeable vee behind the rear fin and out through the tail. The nose rocker and front outline were taken from the Lost Rocket, allowing this board to be ridden shorter, with more speed and stability for everyday surfers. The outline and rocker blend in a way that lets the board be surfed like a modern hi-performance shortboard.
CWT Carbon Wrap Technology construction:
The patented Carbon Wrap technology makes it possible to build incredibly light, fast and responsive surfboards without sacrificing durability. The EPS core does not have a wooden stringer; instead, it is replaced by carbon strips. These strips run from the tip of the board on the bottom side to the tail on the deck side, creating a unique flex that translates in the water to speed and drive. The board is then laminated with epoxy resin and biaxial fiberglass.
The LOST Carbon Wrap boards are manufactured in the Basque Country by the Olatu factory, owner of the Pukas brand, which also builds boards for the prestigious Al Merrick Channel Islands brand.
