The Hegardt H72 polyester resin is the most used by professional shapers to build surfboards.
It gets hard by using a MEPK catalyst. It takes about 10 to 20 minutes according to the amount of catalyst used and temperature.
It is recommanded to use between 1 and 1.5% of MEPK catalyst and to not laminate if temperature is below 17°C. Because of its drying time, we recommand this resin to experienced shapers and for small repairs.
The resin is kept in metal bottles (net weight: 1kg).
Warning:
Resin is irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. It is also inflammable and should be used with caution:
- Avoid contact with skin
- Use with gloves
- Wear carbon filter mask when using, regularly change filters
- Always work in a ventilated place
Resin preservation:
- take precautionary measures against static discharges
- store in a cool, dry place protected from sunlight
- it can last from 8 to 12 months according to storage precautions
- We recommand to test the resin before using it
