The Futures Twin +1 Mark Richards Fins set is one of the most iconic configurations in modern surfing, designed by the legendary Mark Richards (MR). This system combines the best of a classic twin fin with the extra stability of a light thruster, creating a unique feeling of speed, maneuverability and progressive control.
The twin fins offer fast, loose and highly responsive surfing, ideal for generating speed down the line and smooth maneuvers. The addition of a small center fin (stabilizer) provides extra control and drive without sacrificing the characteristic freedom of the twin fin.
The 2+1 design allows you to use the set as a pure twin or as a hybrid setup, adapting to different wave conditions between 1 and 6 feet, making it an extremely versatile system.
Built in fiberglass, these fins maintain a traditional flex that mimics hand-laminated fins, offering a natural, lively feel that is very connected to the wave.
Mark Richards himself developed this system in the early 2000s to meet the need for a more modern twin with greater control, keeping the spirit of classic surfing but tuned for more contemporary performance.
