The Lost RAD RIPPER surfboard is the latest in the "Post Modern Retro" collection. A variant of the Retro Ripper, but scaled for small waves.
Starting from the Retro Ripper, Matt Biolos slightly reduced the entry rocker (for fast paddling, early entry, easy glide and quick release), and replaced the round tail that controls speed with a wide, flat squash tail. The board generates a lot of lift with plenty of surface area for small waves. Having grown up in the 80s, Matt always loved how easy to use the high-performance shortboards of that era were. The RAD RIPPER has a good tail rocker, with an aggressive double concave on the bottom.
It is a fun and super fast board, forgiving and easy to use, with modern updates and improvements, suitable for almost anyone.
Key features include:
• Flat and stable deck, with soft rails.
• Slight vee in the nose (to free up the rocker) that turns into a shallow single concave, finishing in a double-concave vee, both to generate speed and provide control.
• Wide, stable squash tail that glides over anything and maintains speed through turns, even in small summer waves.
• Good thickness forward, with a wedged "beak" nose for maneuverability.
CWT Carbon Wrap Technology construction:
The patented Carbon Wrap technology makes it possible to build incredibly light, fast and responsive surfboards without sacrificing durability. The EPS core has no wooden stringer, which has been replaced with carbon strips. These strips run from the tip of the board on the bottom side to the tail on the deck side, creating a unique flex that translates into speed and drive in the water. The board is then laminated with epoxy resin and biaxial fiberglass.
LOST Carbon Wrap boards are manufactured in the Basque Country by the Olatu factory, owner of the Pukas brand, which also manufactures for the prestigious Al Merrick Channel Islands brand.
